Chief Minister KP inaugurated Chitral Economic Zone on 26 October 2021. It covers an area of 40 Acres and is located on N-45 Malakand Highway.

Chitral Economic Zone has a high growth potential due to its accessability through the lowari tunnel, which is located at an alternative China Pakistan Economic Corridor route. Which sees massive inflows of tourist each year. Chitral E.Z. will boost the economy of its adjoining areas including, Lower Dir and Upper Dir.
